Hi! My name is Ben, and I can’t wait to share my experience with all of you guys! I am 18 years old and am from Louisville, Kentucky. I will be spending a year in Tucson Arizona as a volunteer for the YAV Program. One of the reasons that I am participating in this program is because I wanted to take a gap year, but also do something meaningful during it. Some of my hobbies include climbing, video games, reading and archery! Ben serves this year in Tucson with Community Home Repair Projects of Arizona (CHIRPA).

Hi my name is Nidia Marleny Linares Martinez, I am 25 years old and I am from El Salvador, the smallest country in Central America but a very beautiful one. I studied a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and I will graduate in January 2022. I love music, sunsets, traveling and knowing new places, but also the time with my family and friends is very valuable to me. From August 2022 to July 2023 I was part of a program called "Young Anabaptist Mennonite Exchange Network" through Mennonite Central Committee and I lived in northern Mexico, on the border with the United States. I served in a migrant shelter and during this time I met the person who invited me to be part of the YAVs. I am very grateful for the opportunity and making the decision to be part of this program was not difficult, since I am sure that we are called to serve, because we are the hands and feet of Christ here on earth, it is our responsibility to make the Kingdom of Heaven present here and now. Nidia serves also in Tucson with CHRPA.
Hola, mi nombre es Nidia Marleny Linares Martínez, tengo 25 años y soy de El Salvador, el país más pequeño de Centroamérica pero uno muy hermoso. Estudié una Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Comunicación y me gradué en enero del 2022. Me encanta la música, los atardeceres, viajar y conocer nuevos lugares, pero también el tiempo con mi familia y mis amigos es muy valioso para mí. De agosto de 2022 a julio de 2023 formé parte de un programa llamado “Young Anabaptist Mennonite Exchange Network” a través del Comité Central Menonita y viví en el norte de México, en la frontera con los Estados Unidos. Serví en un centro de atención a migrantes y en este tiempo conocí a la persona que me invitó a ser parte de los YAVs. Estoy muy agradecida la oportunidad y tomar la decisión para formar parte de este programa no fue difícil, ya que estoy segura que estamos llamados a servir, pues somos las manos y los pies de Cristo aquí en la tierra, es nuestra responsabilidad hacer presente el Reino de los Cielos aquí y ahora. También, Nidia trabaja en Tucson con CHRPA.

My name is Yadamy Acero, I am from Chiapas and I live in Mexico City. I studied a bachelor's degree in Theology at the Latin American Faculty of Reformed Theology (FLATER), a Master's degree in Theology at the Theological Community of Mexico, and began another professional career in Communication and Journalism at U.N.A.M. My passion and commitment in society is with the care of creation, ecumenical work with youth and a feminist criticism in the interpretation of the biblical text and in public spaces. In my daily activities, I try to walk and jog in the mornings, I really like the mountains and the forests, the singing of the birds and the lightning when it rains. Yadamy serves with Frontera de Cristo in Agua Prieta, Sonora.

Estudié licenciatura en Teología en la Facultad Latinoamericana de Teología Reformada (FLATER), la Maestría en Teología en la Comunidad Teológica de México, e inicié otra carrera profesional en Comunicación y Periodismo en la U.N.A.M. Mi pasión y compromiso en la sociedad es con el cuidado de la creación, el trabajo ecuménico desde las juventudes y la crítica feministas en la interpretación del texto bíblico y en los espacios públicos. En mis actividades a diario, trato de caminar y trotar por las mañanas, me gustan mucho las montañas y los bosques, el cantar de los pajarillos y los relámpagos cuando llueve. Hello, my name is Lesly, I am the eldest of two sisters, I am 22 years old, born in the city of Tapachula, Chiapas (in the south of Mexico). During my childhood and part of my adolescence my parents moved to different towns within Chiapas, so I cannot say exactly where I lived my entire life. My favorite hobbies are listening to music, cleaning my house and I really love spending time with my friends. My favorite food is my mom's enchiladas and seafood. I enjoy the company of people and a good conversation, I consider that I am a very open person with a lot of interest in the lives and experiences of the people around me. I am very excited about this year with the YAVs since I want to serve with love to those who need it, it makes me happy to be part of this great change that all young people can carry out in the world. Lesly serves at the Migrant Resource Center with Frontera de Cristo.
Hola mi nombre es Lesly, soy la mayor de dos hermanas, tengo 22 años, nacida en la ciudad de Tapachula, Chiapas (en el sur de México). Durante mi niñez y parte de mi adolescencia mis padres se mudaron a distintos pueblos dentro de Chiapas, así que no puedo decir con exactitud en donde viví en toda mi vida. Mis pasatiempos favoritos son escuchar música, limpiar mi casa y me encanta mucho pasar tiempo con mis amigos. Mi comida favorita son las enchiladas de mi mamá y los mariscos. Disfruto de la compañía de las personas y de una buena conversación, considero que soy una persona muy abierta y con mucho interés sobre la vida y experiencias de las personas que me rodean. Estoy muy emocionada por este año con los YAVs ya que deseo servir con amor a aquellos que lo necesiten, me hace feliz ser parte de este gran cambio que podemos llevar a cabo en el mundo todos los jóvenes. My name is Zeyla Anahi Sanchez Morales, I am 27 years old, I was born on February 17, 1996, I grew up in a town called Nuevo Amatenango, municipality of Amatenango located in the Sierra Madre of the state of Chiapas, Mexico. I currently live in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico border area with Douglas, Arizona. One of my achievements that I have obtained is the experience through volunteering, building relationships is the best thing that could have happened to me in different geographical spaces on the southern border and northern border. I want to share that I like to appreciate the sunrise, play the guitar and sing, I like to eat healthy, it is something entertaining for me. I also love being with people and socializing. Zeyla works with the Migrant Shelter CAME in Agua Prieta.

Amairani: Hi, I am from Sonora, Mexico. It is such a pleasure to be going to Montlure Camp for the first time. My purpose is to show the love of God through me and help campers build a relationship with Christ. I would like to meet new people and learn new skills to support my social and spiritual life.
Dafni: Hi, I am excited to be at Montlure Camp for the first time and meet all of you. I am a Mexican law student and I want to help at Montlure Camp this summer because I love new experiences and I want to share memorable experiences full of smiles.
Amairani: Hi, I am from Sonora, Mexico. It is such a pleasure to be going to Montlure Camp for the first time.
